The Washington Examiner reported that Daleep Singh, whom it called “the public face of President Joe Biden’s Russia sanctions strategy,” was “taking an extended leave of absence from the White House.” It said details of timing and length were scant, that a source had told the Washington Post the deputy national security adviser and NEC deputy was stepping away for family reasons “starting next month,” and that an NSC spokesman did not respond to the Examiner. The Examiner added that he is “an alumnus of former President Barack Obama’s administration and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York” and “has been critical to Biden’s Russian sanctions response, briefing the press on the record three times in February alone.” Those are the Examiner’s sentences. Family reasons are the cited explanation in that reporting. They are not a finding of misconduct. This page does not publish a home address or a private incident.
On June 21, 2022, PGIM Fixed Income, via BusinessWire, named Singh “chief global economist and head of global macroeconomic research, effective June 21, 2022.” The release said he joined from the White House dual hats and would report to Gregory Peters. PGIM’s March 17, 2025, release later dated that first private-sector stint “from June 2022 through February 2024.” Reuters and CNBC, June 25, 2022, reported the PGIM hire and that Mike Pyle would serve as G7 sherpa in his place; those pieces also use “architect” language. That word is reporting, not a court caption.
